Winners focus on winning. Losers focus on winners.

For the 128th episode of Dropping Bombs, Brad is joined by corporate performance coach and world-renowned speaker, Alan Stein, Jr.

Alan spent over 15 years working with the highest performing basketball players on the planet. Now, he shares what he learned about creating a winning culture on the court with corporate clients through interactive workshops and high-energy workshops to help companies improve performance, cohesion, and accountability company-wide.

Get ready to improve your mindset and take action after this bomb-filled hour! Here are some highlights:

  • The key to an organization being successful isn’t just vertical accountability, it’s horizontal accountability — where everyone holds everyone else accountable.
  • Demanding accountability means you care. If you allow someone to someone to start eroding the company’s standards, you’ll lose your identity as an organization. At the same point, you can be demanding without being demeaning.
  • Don’t like what’s going on in your company? Accept or correct — those are the only two actions you can take to create a winning culture.
  • Make sure everyone knows their voice is being heard. People will always give more of a commitment if they feel like they have a say in what’s going on.
  • How much time do you waste in meetings? To your employees, a meeting is like a coach calling a timeout. Don’t rehash the past. Instead, consider the emotional state you want your team to be in when they leave the meeting and plan to end on a note that achieves that tone.
  • Speaking of meetings, never hold one unless you have a distinct purpose and agenda. Your employees should be able to say “Here’s why we’re going and this is what he wants us to do.”  It might take 8 minutes, it might take 90, but they’ll know every minute has been invested.
  • More so, by having an agenda and sticking to it, you show that you’re respectful of everyone’s time — and they’ll be equally respecting of yours.
